A NAUTICAL ACTIVITY FOR COMPANY TEAMS ...

The participating groups are at all times supported by skippers who are involved actively in the competition together with a coordinator.

The teams will be arranged depending on the total number of participants (briefing). They will sail on each boat and will also have an outboard motor crew coordinating the whole event.

In the first length, participants will begin to be familiarized with the different manoeuvres and on-board techniques, learning and, at the same time enjoying, the exciting sport of sailing.

Once the first length is finished, each participant will have a specific chore within the team (these chores will rotate so that everyone will be able to experience every position of a professional sailing team).

The start and finish will take place in front of the Olympic Port, and the regatta as well as the award ceremony, will have the city of Barcelona as its background.

On each sailboat we will have up to 7 participants, a skipper, an assistant and a coach who, together with the captain, the helmsman and the sailors will form the sailing teams.

The Coach. On the boat his task is to observe. Once off the boat, in an indoors space, he will debrief the learnings and achievements of each participant.

The skipper is in charge of the boat, decides the manoeuvres and will take all the decisions. To carry these out, he will transmit them to the “captain in charge of the ship”.

The skipper’s assistant will collaborate directly with the participants.

The participants will take turns in the following roles:

• “The Captain”. Interprets and executes the decisions from the skipper. Must give the necessary orders to the helmsman and the sailors to achieve the objectives in his turn as “The Captain”.
• “The Helmsman” Will be in charge of taking the proper course that has been given to him by his “Captain” and will, if the case arises, transmit to him any situation he might encounter.
• The Sailors. Will maintain the boat in order for a safe navigation. setting the sails, making sure everyone is comfortable, helping out in all the necessary steps when sailing out of the port and when docking.

Venue: We recommend the Olympic Port of Barcelona. Other ports in Spain may also be an option.

Number of participants: From 10 to 100.

Includes: Refreshments and assorted “tapas” on every sailboat.
